I think your this book just saved my life! For sure my quality of life! 4 years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and since then I have never felt like myself no matter what I tried and I have tried everything! I was on 25 mg of iodine for the last 2 years which is high by conventional standards so it never occurred to me to raise it, but after I heard Lynne on a podcast where the host said that he was on 50 mg of iodine it occurred to me that I could try to raise mine just to see if it would help. I got this book and read it just to reassure myself. I immediately started taking 50mg. Expecting side effects I couldn’t believe it when instead I felt like someone had turned the lights back on! For 4 years I have been struggling with not feeling like myself, never really feeling motivated to do anything, always forcing myself to do the normal things of life, and really worrying about aging because I already felt old and I couldn’t imagine if it got worse! Today I feel like myself again! I can’t believe it! I’m so excited! I just had to thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! And by the way no side effects at all! I have always taken lots of magnesium, sea salt, and selenium so perhaps that is why it was so easy. Also, it appears to have regulated my appetite! Even though I have been on ketogenic diet for over a year-and-a-half I never got the energy or appetite regulation that people described. Since I've been on iodine after I finish eating I am full and done eating. I don't want anything else and I don't crave sweets! It is life-changing! I am so grateful, thanks again!
I would give this 10 stars! Thank you Ms. Farrow! Regular doctors are clueless about the iodine crisis. They just keep prescribing synthetic drugs instead of really looking for other ways to treat their patients. My doctor's first 'go-to' is her prescription pad. If I question things -- like side effects -- I'm told 'no, it's fine'. My doctor NEVER asks me if I have any questions or concerns. The office is like a revolving door - get 5-8 minutes tops and bye-bye. I learned that you have to be your own doctor, unfortunately. I wish insurance paid for naturopaths, but big pharma would never allow that! They want you to take prescription drugs instead of natural things like iodine. They don't make any money from that (and neither does your doctor!) I applaud the doctors who have recognized the problem and are doing something about it. I dare say most of them are just like my current doctor.Everyone should read this book. So many people have been helped by recognizing how deficient we are in this very important element. Breast cancer has greatly increased since 1970 because women are not getting enough of this critical element (and getting poisoned by bromide). In 1970, 1 of 20 women got breast cancer; today, it is 1 out of 7. I had wondered what the little red mole-like things were that were on my body. Now I know -- cherry angiomas as a result of bromide poisoning -- depleting iodine in my body. As Ms. Farrow says in her book, get away from thinking you have to accept everything your doctor says because 'they must know what they're doing'. They are not interested in curing you, just making your blood numbers confirm to certain guidelines. I have lost faith in my current doctor and am in the process of finding another doctor; a task that is indeed daunting.
